Sylvia Roth

Sylvia Roth is a painter, printmaker, and fine art jewelry maker. In addition to original works, she paints commissions for private and public collections upon request and consults with collectors on building their private collections. Her paintings, prints and fine art jewelry have been exhibited in galleries across the country and around the world. The Metropolitan Museum of Art commissioned a limited edition of original etchings and jewelry in connection with their exhibit, "Ancient Egypt Transformed: The Middle Kingdom" that appeared at the Tisch Gallery. Other galleries in which Sylvia's work has appeared include: Art Basel: Miami Beach, Site: Brooklyn, Archipelago Gallery International Design, The Hopper House, Detroit Zoological Institute, Weber Fine Art, and the Katonah Museum of Art. Among the many shows in which she has participated, particularly notable are “Pleasures from the Garden,” a traveling show across the United States sponsored by the Museum of Modern Art, and “Children in Crisis,” an international show shedding light on child victims of war. Her paintings and prints are part of numerous collections including General Foods, Mobil, Readers Digest, and the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum. Sylvia has also been a guest lecturer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and an invited guest master printmaker at Vinalhaven Press. Her work as a master printer is represented in the National Gallery of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Brooklyn Museum, Houston Museum of Fine Arts, Cleveland Museum of Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Portland Museum of Art.
